The AIM Training Program is designed for approximately 50 men. While this training is not therapeutic in nature, it is experiential and very personal. It is neither a lecture nor a seminar. It allows each participant the time and attention to discover his own personal issues, and what he needs to create healing, clarity, direction/purpose, and right action in the world. The marketing of this type of program always offers an interesting challenge. At the university level, it is possible to make participation in this program mandatory. Coaches, instructors, and administrators influence decision-making, and the removal of the power of choice creates potential resistance. Our team is prepared, with the full support of the university, to do brief presentation to the young men who are potential candidates for our program. We will share with them who we are, what our backgrounds are, and what we are offering to them. Our hope is that many young men will choose to do the training because it appeals to something deep within them - the intrinsic desire to find their own authentic power. We highly recommend that the participants be charged a nominal tuition (ex. $25) for their participation in this program. The universal law of value applies here - if one invests one's own money, one is more likely to invest one's own energy. Furthermore, we suggest that the sum total of participant-paid fees be donated to a community development charity or program (ex. The Women's Resource Center, Rape Crisis Center, etc.). This will be decided by the participants themselves. |
